About Dolphinarium

The Dolphinarium in Constanţa began its activity on June 1, 1972, being the first museum form of this kind in our country and the first one in the S-E of Europe at that time. The exhibition presents the world of the shell fish living in diverse seas. The shows are organized in the amphitheatre with a pool, with dolphins from the Phocaena relicta species and Delphinus delphis ponticus species, with seals from the South Atlantic.

Generalitati


    Cetaceele cuprind doua grupe de animale: delfinii si balenele, cu dimensiuni variind de la 1 metru pana la 30 metri.
    Delfinii prezinta dinti care servesc numai la apucat hrana, nu si la masticat. Spre deosebire de delfini balenele prezinta fanoane care actioneaza ca un filtru in procesul de hranire.
    In lume exista aproximativ 70 de specii de delfini. Dintre acestea doar cateva sunt de apa dulce (delfinul de Gange, delfinul de Amazon).
    Delfinii sunt mamifere; ei nasc pui vii pe care-i hranesc cu lapte si respira aer atmosferic prin plamani.
